We study the production of a single top quark through the processes egamma --> nutbBAR, e+e- --> Wgamma* --> tbBAR + enu, and e+e- --> W*W
--> tbBAR + enu within the minimal Standard Model. Numerical estimate
s of the signal cross-sections at LEP II energies are compared with pa
ir production below threshold, e+e- --> ttBAR --> tW*bBAR --> tbBAR enu. We show that if m(top) > square-root s/2, the WW and W*gamma* c
hannels are dominant, but these processes give an interesting event ra
te only if the expected luminosity could be ameliorated relative to pr
esent estimates.
