This article' reviews the literature from the past year that deals spe
cifically with different aspects of comitant strabismus. Although comi
tant strabismus encompasses many distinct clinical entities, the liter
ature of the past year focused primarily on congenital esotropia and a
ccommodative esotropia. We present informative reviews of many article
s on these two subjects, and organize the material according to the pa
rticular emphasis of the work, including epidemiology, etiology, natur
al history, diagnosis, and management.
