Abstract
The lacrimal drainage system includes the nasolacrimal duct, lacrimal sac, and canaliculi. Stenosis or obstruction at any portion of the lac rimal drainage system or an impaired lacrimal pump may cause bothersom e epiphora. Tear stasis may also be associated with ocular or adnexal infections. This article reviews the recent literature pertaining to a natomy and physiology, pathology, and clinical evaluation and treatmen t, as well as complications of lacrimal drainage-system disorders.
