Abstract
in a study on the relationship between political conformity, generaliz ed competence and control expectancies, an East German sample populati on (N = 257) answered the ''FKK'', a scale measuring generalized compe tence and control beliefs. Consistency measures and inter-scale correl ations are similar to those found by Krampen (1991). Concerning the fa ctorial validity, however, not all item loadings were replicated. In p articular, the separation into self-concept and internality subscales in the East German sample differed from that in the West German sample used by Krampen (1991) to standardize the scale.
