PHEOCHROMOCYTOMAS are rare neuroendocrine tumors that cause symptomati
c paroxysms due to catecholamine secretion. An unusual variant of the
pheochromocytoma is the cystic pheochromocytoma. Two case reports and
a review of the English language literature form the basis of this rep
ort, which correlates the computed tomography (CT) and pathologic find
ings of the cystic pheochromocytoma and outlines strategies in the rad
iologic evaluation of pheochromocytoma.
