Abstract
Vertical distribution of the North Athlantic mesoplankton from 0 - 500 m layer was studied in waters of different productivity from eutrophi c to oligotrophic. Changes of different characteristics (biomass, numb er, percentage of predators, vertical profiles of biomass and number) were dishown dependent on productivity of the region. Decreasing of pr oductivity leads to a the more balanced production and consumption cyc les in communities and more complete utilization of the primary produc tion.
