OCEAN WAVE SPECTRUM MEASUREMENTS FROM A M OVING VESSEL

A problem of the ocean surface wave spectrum restoration from the spec trum measured by a moving remote sensor is considered. The measured sp ectrum differs from the true one because of the frequency and amplitud e distortions. The spectrum transformations are calculated for fair wi nd and for contrary wind moving vessel. For example the transformation of the standard gravity wave spectrum by a hypothetical moving remote meter with final space resolution is demonstrated. The requirements f or the main parameters of height and angle remote meters (resolution, sensibility and rapidity of operation) are determined.
