Abstract
A 20-year-old black patient with bullous systemic lupus erythematosus developed papular and vesicular lesions on the extensor surfaces of th e extremities. Histologically, subepidermal blisters and papillary neu trophilic abscesses with a striking number of lupus erythematosus cell s were observed. No circulating anti-basal-membrane-zone antibodies we re found. By Western immunoblotting, the patient's serum showed no rea ctivity against epidermal or dermal extracts.
