J. Bockaert et al., METABOTROPIC GLUTAMATE RECEPTORS - AN ORIGINAL FAMILY OF G-PROTEIN-COUPLED RECEPTORS, Fundamental and clinical pharmacology, 7(9), 1993, pp. 473-485
In 1985, we discovered a new glutamate receptor which was coupled to p
hospholipase C via a G protein and which was later termed metabotropic
glutamate receptor (mGluR). In this review, both the diversity of mGl
uRs and the cellular events they control are discussed, as well as the
ir roles in physiological regulation and brain function.
