Abstract
The spin-dependent densities of empty electronic states in iron and ni ckel are investigated by spin-resolved soft X-ray appearance potential spectroscopy. Model calculations using spin- and angular-momentum-res olved densities of states with appropriate weighting are in rather goo d agreement with the experimental data.
