In D-T and D-He-3 plasmas, ICRF heating at the second harmonic of deut
erium results in a modification to the distribution function of the he
ated ions. This paper describes the results of such effects on the dyn
amic behaviour of plasmas. Using a O-D plasma transport model, the eff
ect of ICRF heating on an operating point is analysed for ITER and for
a D-He-3 tokamak. To describe the dynamic behaviour, a model for the
characteristic time of tail relaxation, tau(xi), is developed and a fe
edback model based on auxiliary power is presented. The stabilization
of temperature perturbations in a D-He-3 plasma is simulated for vario
us values of tau(xi).
