F. Silva et al., THE TEMPERATURE-COEFFICIENT OF THE POTENTIAL OF ZERO CHARGE OF STEPPED FACES OF GOLD IN CONTACT WITH AQUEOUS PERCHLORIC-ACID SOLUTIONS, Journal of electroanalytical chemistry [1992], 360(1-2), 1993, pp. 199-210
Potentials of zero charge, E(sigma=0), and the temperature coefficient
s of E(sigma=0) for stepped surfaces of sold single crystals (511), (5
33), (331) and (311) were obtained from the minimum of the differentia
l capacity curve in dilute HClO4 solutions. The results are compared w
ith those obtained for the low index faces and dilute in terms of the
effect of the surface density of steps and the step orientation. The p
ossible relevance of the effect of steps on the interaction of water w
ith gold surfaces is discussed.
