L. Gauvin et Wj. Rejeski, THE EXERCISE-INDUCED FEELING INVENTORY - DEVELOPMENT AND INITIAL VALIDATION, Journal of sport & exercise psychology, 15(4), 1993, pp. 403-423
This research describes the development and validation of a measure de
signed to assess feeling states that occur in conjunction with acute b
outs of physical activity-the Exercise-Induced Feeling Inventory (EFI)
. The EFI consists of 12 items that capture four distinct feeling stat
es: revitalization, tranquility, positive engagement, and physical exh
austion. The multidimensional structure of the EFI is supported by con
firmatory factor analysis. The subscales have good internal consistenc
y, share expected variance with related constructs, are sensitive to e
xercise interventions, and appear responsive to the different social c
ontexts in which activity may occur. After describing the psychometric
properties of the EFI, several directions for theory-based research a
re proposed.
