Abstract
We present a case report of a 4-year-old in whom the distal fibula and epiphyseal plate had been traumatically destroyed. A free vascularize d epiphyseal transfer using the ipsilateral proximal fibula was perfor med which provided good bony stability at the ankle, as well as excell ent long-term growth characteristics. We demonstrate immediate postope rative results, as well as long-term (5 years) follow-up. (C) 1993 Wil ey-Liss, Inc.
