The ion exchange and selectivity behaviour of cerium(IV) antimonate (C
eSb) have been systematically investigated as a function of absorbed d
ose. Changes in ion-exchange capacity, distribution behaviour and infr
a-red spectra of the irradiated materials have been followed. The irra
diated CeSb has been successfully used for the quantitative separation
of cesium which suggests its use in the treatment of active liquid wa
stes.
