The application of the general ''finite-integration-method'' for the n
umerical solution of Maxwell's equations allows the calculation of ele
ctromagnetic interactions between electronic structures and the surrou
nding space regarding the shielding influence of a casing. This method
is presented in a brief description together with the open boundary t
reatment. The abilities of the program implementation are demonstrated
in an example of a metallic chassis consisting of two separate parts
with an electronic subsystem inside. The crosstalk is drastically incr
eased for the spectral parts near the resonances of the casing.
