Ai. Skvortsov et Li. Agapova, MECHANICAL AND DAMPING PROPERTIES OF GRAPHITIZED STEEL AFTER ISOTHERMAL HARDENING, Metal science and heat treatment, 35(5-6), 1993, pp. 259-261
Due to a lower concentration of carbon, and, consequently, a lower con
centration of low strength and brittle graphite it is possible to achi
eve a better combination of strength and ductility in graphitized stee
ls in comparison to cast iron containing globular graphite. This is ac
complished after hot deformation followed by heat treatment. In this a
rticle a comparison is made between the properties of graphitized stee
l and cast iron containing globular graphite after various heat treatm
ents.
