Abstract
The shear viscosity of the SPC and SPC/E water models at 277 and 300 K has been determined using equilibrium molecular dynamics. Good agreem ent with experiment was obtained for the SPC/E model at both temperatu res. The viscosity of the SPC model was lower than the experimental va lue at both temperatures and displayed only a small temperature depend ence. The effect of using a reaction field treatment for the long-rang e electrostatic interaction was also investigated and found to be negl igible.
