We show that the Hamiltonian dynamics of the effective two-particle po
tential, describing an additional component of the hadronic S matrix a
nd corresponding to the Feynman-Wilson fluid in one dimension, leads t
o trapped chaotic and/or diffusive intermittent motion. We argue that
the strong density fluctuations in rapidity space, generated by this m
otion, are related to the intermittency of the multihadron distributio
ns at high energies.
