Abstract
Flow-injection immunoassay is a method of conducting immunoassays usin g a small, reusable immunoreactor and a continuously flowing buffer st ream into which samples and necessary reagents are introduced by valve s or by injection. This review focuses on heterogeneous immunoassays. There are numerous potential merits to the use of flow injection and t hese are discussed. To date there has been much good exploratory work in this area but in general there has been little commercialization us ing this mode of immunoassay. This aspect is discussed.
