Abstract
We investigate the monopole condensate in lattice gauge theory. We fin d that the monopole condensate in SU(2) lattice gauge theory in the ma ximal Abelian gauge behaves as in lattice electrodynamics. We argue th at the monopole condensate is an order parameter for confinement, and find an evidence for the dual color superconductor hypothesis.
