Abstract
New concepts of strong pseudomonotonicity, strict quasimonotonicity, a nd semistrict quasimonotonicity of a map are introduced and their prop erties are studied. In the case of a differentiable gradient map, we s how that strong pseudomonotonicity of the gradient is equivalent to st rong pseudoconvexity of the underlying function. This does not hold fo r a different concept of strong pseudomonotonicity in Ref. 1. Analogou s results are shown for strict quasimonotonicity and semistrict quasim onotonicity.
