Dl. Goldberg et R. Castenschiold, THE DESIGNER OF INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL POWER-SYSTEMS AND CODE INTERPRETATIONS, IEEE transactions on industry applications, 29(5), 1993, pp. 979-985
There is a need for the practicing electrical design engineer of indus
trial and commercial power systems to understand the relationship betw
een design practice and the National Electrical Code and the possible
consequences of failure to design a system that does not meet requirem
ents of the inspection authority. This paper also deals with the probl
ems of interpretations by the inspection authority or designer that ar
e not in the realm of mainstream practice. Recommendations are made fo
r handling code ''violations'' that may be charged to design staff. So
me suggestions are made on how the IEEE Industry Applications Society
(IAS) might further assist design engineers in working with the Code.
