Five bandhead positions of the A(2)II-X(2) Sigma system of TiN between
6146 and 6236 Angstrom have been studied using reserved laser induced
fluorescence spectroscopy. Delta V =0 and +/-1 transitions have been
observed. The ground-state vibrational frequency has been measured to
be 1039.8 cm(-1), which is in excellent agreement with values obtained
by Douglas and Veillette previously. The molecular constants obtained
have been used to construct the potential energy curves for the A(2)I
I and X(2) Sigma states from which the Franck-Condon factors were also
calculated.
