Abstract
The role of tRNAs in protein synthesis seems routine when compared wit h the novel ways in which the Ty retrotransposons of Saccharomyces cer evisiae use these interpreters of the genetic code. tRNAs and tRNA gen es control essential steps in the retrotransposon life cycle by regula ting protein expression, priming DNA synthesis and specifying integrat ion target sites.
