Abstract
Fluctuation energy equations and the associated constitutive relations are derived for turbulent fluid-solid flows. This work is a continuat ion of previous studies, where the continuity and momentum equations w ere derived. The framework comprising all these equations is valid for all flow regimes. Closure of the constitutive relations will depend o n the nature of the various flow regimes. The phase interaction terms in the fluid and solid fluctuation energy equations differ by the term [m(i)]({v(i)} - {u(i)}). When the phase interaction in the momentum e quation, [m(i)] is dominated by the drag force, the above interaction term in the energy equation results in an enhancement of fluid turbule nce by the presence of particles.
