Ea. Antokhina et Am. Cherepashchuk, PARAMETERS OF X-RAY NOVA MUSCAE 1991 OBTAINED FROM ANALYSIS OF THE INFRARED LIGHT-CURVE IN THE QUIET STAGE, Astronomy letters, 19(3), 1993, pp. 194-197
Photometric data of Remillard et al. (1992) are used to analyze the IR
light curve of XN Mus within the standard model of a x-ray binary sys
tem: a star that overflows its Roche and an accretion disk surrounding
a relativistic object. The complete consistency of this model with th
e observational data has been tested statistically. The orbital inclin
ation of the system is evaluated. Using data on the mass of the K0 V-K
4 V optical star (M(V)=0.7-0.8M.) and the mass function f(V)(M)=3.1 M.
obtained by Remillard et al. (1992), the following system parameters
were estimated: q=M(X)/M(V)=12-21, i=39-degrees-43-degrees, M(X)=9-16
M..
