Bm. Petronio et al., THE EFFECT OF SLUDGE STABILIZATION CONDITIONS ON SOIL ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS INTERACTIONS, Environmental technology, 14(10), 1993, pp. 989-994
An investigation is carried out concerning sludge stabilization condit
ions, organic compound leaching processes and consequent soil behaviou
r toward organic compounds released. Sludge samples treated under aero
bic or aerobic-anaerobic conditions release different organic compound
s, and accordingly, the sorbing behaviour of receiving soils is differ
ent. In order to evaluate the nature of sludge portions, and eluant be
fore and after the sorption experiments, these were characterized by t
hermo-gravimetric, NMR and IR techniques.
