At 10 quails with a body weight of 122.2 +/- 6.9 g the following conte
nt of ascorbic acid in the tissues was determined: spleen 724 +/- 338,
liver 359 +/- 87, brain 323 +/- 32, kidney 222 +/- 19, lung 167 +/- 2
4, gizzard 140 +/- 19, heart 134 +/- 19 and breast muscle 101 +/- 16 m
ug/g wet weight. The values are compared with the results of analyses
of broilers, of hens, of ducks and of geese.
