A. Heidrich et al., GENERAL PARESIS - MODERN NEUROIMAGING TEC HNIQUES GIVING EARLY PROGNOSTIC CLUES - CASE-REPORT, Nervenarzt, 64(11), 1993, pp. 739-741
The case of a patient with early diagnosed neurosyphilis (general pare
sis) is presented. Modern neuroimaging techniques such as single photo
n emission computed tomography (SPECT) may give clues to the treatment
outcome as early as 1 month after antibiotic treatment. Improvement o
f cognitive functions was accompanied by normalization of the initiall
y altered P300-topography.
