Av. Ozolinysh, SEASONAL-CHANGES IN POLYCHAETA TAXOCENES OF THE SUBLITORAL IN THE FAR-EASTERN MARINE RESERVE, Soviet journal of ecology, 23(6), 1992, pp. 379-384
At two stations located in the Gulf of Peter the Great of the Sea of J
apan, on sand at depths of 10 and 47 m, the authors studied seasonal c
hanges in Polychaeta taxocenes. The most significant variations in the
taxocene's species structure were noted at the depth of 10 m. With th
e help of multiple discriminant analysis, within the bounds of each ta
xocene they distinguished two seasonal aspects, with summer changes at
the depth of 10 m leading those at the depth of 47 m in time. The pro
blem of relating temporal fluctuations with the concept of a community
as such is discussed.
