Ev. Alekseev, ECOLOGICAL-GEOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF NATURAL CENTERS OF PLAGUE (USE OF THE DATA-BANK OF EPIZOOTOLOGICAL INSPECTION), Soviet journal of ecology, 23(6), 1992, pp. 385-390
For studying certain ecological-geographic questions connected with th
e confinement of natural centers of plague to various elements of the
landscape environment, the author used the information-retrieval syste
m (IRS) of the data bank for unified reporting of epizootological terr
itorial inspections. The structure of the IRS makes it possible to com
bine various cartographic material, with different content, with the d
ata bank. Investigations conducted according to this principle, using
medium-scale maps, showed that confinement of plague epizooties is not
iceably expressed as applied to certain elements of the relief within
geobotanical complexes of the hydromorphic type.
