Abstract
Group A beta-hemolytic Streptococcus (GAHS) was isolated from 18% of s wabs submitted to a district microbiology laboratory from girls with v ulvovaginitis, a figure similar to that from a contemporary British st udy. This suggests that vulvovaginitis is more commonly associated wit h GAHS than reported previously. This could represent either an increa se in frequency of the condition or better recognition of it.
