Abstract
A case of spontaneous perforation of the rectum by a locally advanced prostatic carcinoma is described. The mechanisms of rectal involvement by prostatic carcinoma are discussed, focusIng attention on the diffi culties in differential diagnosis with primary carcinoma of the rectum .
