Hepatitis B and hepatitis C viruses are responsible of chronic liver d
isease, the efficient treatment of which would represent major public
health progress. Even the partial success of interferon-alpha in the t
reatment of this viral disease is a major breakthrough. Besides interf
eron, new nucleoside analogs already appear to be promising against he
patitis B and C viruses. Altogether, these molecules should act synerg
