Abstract
Photodynamic therapy was used to treat a patient with recurrent laryng otracheal papillomatosis who had a history of systemic lupus erythemat osus (SLE). At the time of photoactivation, the patient's SLE was in r emission for 2 years. Postoperatively, the patient was not compliant i n avoiding sunlight exposure and developed photosensitive skin reactio ns of his face and hands. In addition, he had clinical activation of h is SLE following that exposure. (C) 1993 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
