Fi. Dalidchik et al., LOW-ENERGY STRUCTURAL FEATURES ON THE ENERGY-DEPENDENCE OF THE CURRENT OF IONS REFLECTED FROM A SOLID-SURFACE, JETP letters, 58(7), 1993, pp. 514-519
Various structural features on the energy dependence of the current of
ions reflected from a solid surface are analyzed. Structural features
of three types (LAMBDA, V, and h) are predicted to result from a comp
etition among various electronic transitions (neutralization through v
arious channels, reionization, deexcitation, and reneutralization) whi
ch accompany the motion of an atomic particle. Some new spectroscopic
possibilities in experiments on the neutralization of low-energy ions
(E < 200 eV) near a solid surface are discussed.
