Abstract
A unique, interactive videodisc self-study program to teach Russian sp eaking, reading, and listening skills to adults will be completed in 1 993 at the new Federal Language Training Laboratory in Washington, D.C Equivalent to a 120-hour teacher-delivered course, it is designed to produce speaking proficiency at the FSI level 1. This article discusse s the course content, methodology, architecture, role of the student, and development process.
