Abstract
Premature neonates fed ultrasonically homogenized human milk had bette r weight gain and triceps skin-fold thickness than did a control group given untreated human milk (p < 0.01) and also had lower fat loss dur ing tube feeding (p < 0.01). Ultrasonic homogenization of human milk a ppears to minimize loss of fat and thus allows better growth of premat ure infants.
