Abstract
A screening test was undertaken to isolate microorganisms that produce d carnitine dehydrogenase having a low K(m) value for L-carnitine. An isolated bacterium from a soil sample was found to produce such an enz yme. Based on its morphological and biochemical characteristics, this isolate was identified as a Pseudomonas sp.
