Abstract
The idea of an optimal decision strategy is applied to a class of trac king problems. The resulting pointwise optimization problem is posed a s a linear programming problem, in contrast to previous work where it is posed as a quadratic programming problem. A useful result concernin g the convergence of the tracking error in the presence of control con straints is derived and applied to an aircraft terrain-following syste m.
