Abstract
Antibiotics are an important class of drugs in animal food. Their use can leave residues and metabolites. We present here an overview of ana lytical methods, including gas chromatography, thin-layer chromatograp hy, high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectometry for th is class of compounds. A discussion of variables involved in such meth odology and a review of the method criteria are offered.
