Three C-13-labelled bromoacetates have been reacted both with N-15-lab
elled and with unlabelled di-tert-butyl imidodicarbonate and the inter
mediates selectively deprotected to give the corresponding isotopomeri
c Boc-glycines for application in peptide synthesis. The products were
characterized by H-1, C-13 and N-15 NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy. Isoto
pe effects on chemical shifts and IR spectra for this set of compounds
are tabulated. In addition, from three isotopomers N-15-labelled amid
es were also prepared.
