P. Goldoni et al., EFFECT OF SUB-INHIBITORY CONCENTRATIONS OF ANTIBIOTICS ON THE HEMOLYTIC-ACTIVITY OF LEGIONELLA, Journal of chemotherapy, 5(5), 1993, pp. 293-296
The effect of sub-inhibitory concentrations of various antibiotics on
the hemolytic activity of different strains of Legionella has been tes
ted. By means of a gradient plate technique it ass possible to demonst
rate that in a limited range of sub-inhibitory concentrations, antibio
tics did not affect bacterial growth but inhibited the hemolytic activ
ity of the strains examined.
