Abstract
Items related to the biodiversity of cyanobacteria reviewed in this pa per include: 1) principal characterization of the Oxyphotobacteria gro up; 2) information on the biodiversity of cyanobacteria in collections ; 3) data on the biodiversity of cyanobacteria in situ in Russia. Spec ial emphasis is placed on the prospects of finding new forms and on pr eserving the biodiversity of cyanobacteria in (ex) situ.
