Lv. Kravchenko et Nm. Makarova, KINETICS OF CEREAL ROOT SURFACE COLONIZATION AFTER INTRODUCTION OF ASSOCIATIVE BACTERIA, Microbiology, 62(3), 1993, pp. 324-327
It has been shown that colonization of roots by introduced bacteria is
determined not only by passive spread resulting from root growth, but
also by active colonization of the root surface by motile bacteria. S
uccessful introduction may by achieved by a combined selection of bact
erial strains and plant species and cultivar. Competitive interactions
in soil may significantly modify colonization kinetics of the root su
rface.
