Abstract
A new genus of Triplacinae (Erotylidae), Hirsutotriplax Skelley, and a new species from Arizona, U.S.A., H. mcclevei Skelley as type species , are described. Similarities and differences between Hirsutotriplax a nd Triplax Herbst are discussed. A previously published key to the gen era of Erotylidae north of Mexico is modified to include Hirsutotripla x. Distinct dorsal pubescence and foveate punctures make this beetle u nique among the New World Triplacinae.
