A method of guaranteeing optimum control of objects whose parameters a
re specified by a set of values is discussed. The control problem is f
ormulated as a problem with fixed end points and a fixed time interval
, the final value of the phase coordinate vector being specified not a
s a domain but as a point. Programmed control is obtained by introduci
ng the concept of an extended object that is tested for controllabilit
y and optimum control form on the basis of the principle of maximum. T
he proposed approach can be used to control stochastic and variable-st
ructure objects, and also to compose a single control program common f
or several different objects.
