A. Koksal et Jf. Kauffman, MOMENT METHOD ANALYSIS OF LINEARLY TAPERED SLOT ANTENNAS, International journal of microwave and millimeter-wave computer-aided engineering, 4(1), 1994, pp. 76-87
An accurate Method of Moments (MoM) model is developed and implemented
for the analysis of the linearly tapered slot antenna (LTSA). The mod
el employs an unequal size reactangular sectioning for conducting part
s of the antenna. Piecewise sinusoidal basis functions are used for th
e expansion of conductor current. The effect of the dielectric is inco
rporated in the model by using equivalent volume polarization current
density and solving the equivalent problem in free space. The feed sec
tion of the antenna including the microstripline is handled rigorously
in the MoM model by including slotline short-circuit and microstripli
ne currents among the unknowns. Comparison with measurements is made t
o demonstrate the validity of the model for both the air case and the
dielectric case. Numerical results for the effect of the dielectric pe
rmittivity are presented. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
