M. Kaoua et al., HYDRODYNAMIC CONTROL OF AN EVAPORATING LI QUID-FILM FALLING ALONG AN AXISYMMETRICAL ISOTHERMAL WALL IN A HUMID AIR CURRENT, Canadian journal of chemical engineering, 74(6), 1996, pp. 883-889
A thin-film evaporation from a surface of a axisymmetrical body in a h
umid air stream was studied using a finite difference method associate
d with Thomas' algorithm. The surface of the body is supposed isotherm
al. The variability of physical properties is taken into account, and
a steady-state and laminar regime is supposed. The influence of the ma
in parameters of the system on the evaporation is determined, especial
ly the wall profile. It is shown that, for certain conditions of calcu
lation, it is possible to find a flat ellipsoid of revolution offering
a uniformly accessible wall between the pole and the equator.
